I've only lived in Cave Creek for about 18 months, but I simply love it here.

I feel like I am a lot closer to nature, not only because of the wildlife encounters, but because of the green lifestyle. We do everything from conserving energy and water to the excellent recycling program that I have never seen in a city this size. I love the Farmer's Market, which delivers the best produce I have ever tasted. There is also a "thieves market" that is a flea market with exceptional deals on things that I, a recent college grad, need to start my life in this beautiful town.

After I got my degree from Illinois state university, I realized that I needed a change of scenery, and I needed to live somewhere that was closer to nature. I tried horseback riding Cave Creek Trail, and absolutely loved it. I had ridden a horse a few times as a child, but nothing compares to this. It's a very serene activity and a lot of fun.

Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, is a huge space that I routinely hike through, it's beautiful and I enjoy having that time to myself to think while also getting a good workout. Morning hikes are particularly enjoyable. Another beautiful place to go for a hike is the Black Mountain Conservatory, I know it seems like I am obsessive about my hikes, but you would be too if you lived in a place like this. I absolutely love it here and I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather live right now.

Two years ago, my husband and I decided to leave New York and moved to Cave Creek, Arizona. It is different from the big city we are used to, but we absolutely love every second of it here. It is what we hoped for, and more. Not only is Cave Creek a beautiful town, it is also a very well-balanced one. We get to enjoy all the natural beauty and outdoor activities that are available all over the city.

There are numerous parks, hiking trails, golf clubs and other amazing spots in and around the desert for us to discover and enjoy. The view of a sunset over a desert from our deck is breathtaking, and it never gets old. Maybe the fact that, in this lovely town, the temperature is perfect all year round and the sun is out 10 days out of 10, can explain why everyone here looks healthy and happy.

Another thing that impresses me about this city is how environmentally sustainable it is. The residents initiated many environmental programs, such as "Green Cave Creek". They come together to gather environmental information for the town's sustainability, and organize fun running programs around the city. There are also high-quality waste management programs with a no-fee recycling facility and a water conservation program, which is a smart idea for a city near the desert.

The goal that all residents seem to have in common is to preserve the desert and open space. It is a great idea that is rooted into the identity of the town. I'm proud to live here.
