Ricki from Chandler ...
Located just one road trip away from the booming valleys of the world famous Grand Canyon that I have personally seen, the city of Chandler, Arizona, has become a vibrant metropolitan suburb close to the Arizona state capital, Phoenix. Founded in 1912 and incorporated in 1920, the city has risen from being a primarily agricultural town to a vibrant and diverse 21st century modern enclave.
Of all the privileges and benefits that the city has to offer, I believe that the Chandler Public Library will appeal most to the intellectual and book enthusiasits. Resources include career counseling, free practice SAT test in the Testing and Education Reference Center, free e-Books, opportunities for teens to volunteer, and, of course, a large selection of books, magazines, and DVDs than the average public library.
In addition to the excellent public library, I think that perhaps what will draw most people to Chandler is its famous three-day Ostrich Festival every spring which attracts around 300,000 people. Started in 1989, it includes an exciting Saturday morning parade, popular and local regional talent in music, dance, and other niches, famous national groups, carnival midway, and a wide selection of food. Ostrich food, feathers, feather dusters, leather goods, and other ostrich-related merchandise are available in Ostrich Alley where one can see firsthand live ostriches and emus and learn from the experts who raised the animals.
Finally, but certainly not the only benefit left, Chandler boasts its rich cultural center, the Vision Gallery. Even for a non-artisitic person like me, it sure made me appreciate art even more. I especially enjoyed the U.K. photographers' exhibit, In the Deep Midwinter. The Vision Gallery also has a Vision Kidz program for children so the institution is also very kid-friendly and accomodating towards families. Overall, Chandler, Arizona is a great place to live. If you're like me and enjoy living a fulfilling life, check it out! Reference: Homes for Sale Chandler AZ
Ryan from Chandler ...
I moved, along with my wife and two kids, to Chandler, Arizona a few years ago to get out of the city.
We enjoyed living in Phoenix but wanted to move to the suburbs to provide a better living situation for my family. After spending a few weeks looking for homes for sale Chandler AZ, we happily moved into a new home in the Chandler Unified School District. As I am considering returning to school to pursue a Master's Degree, the proximity to Arizona State University is also a bonus. While my family is very happy with the educational options in Chandler, we like to have fun too.
My family enjoys many of the recreational options that Chandler offers as well. For instance, I often visit one of the aquatic centers to work out as I enjoy swimming in preparation for the Ironman Triathlon hosted near Chandler. My wife on the other hand enjoys playing tennis in the impressively maintained Tumbleweed Park. While our children enjoy many of the activities available at the Chandler recreational centers, my son, who adores railroads, is in love with the Arizona Railway Museum located in the town. My wife, who studied theater at Arizona State, enjoys attending events at the Chandler Center for the Arts which brings in many interesting regional ballets, plays, musicals, and features the Chandler Symphony Orchestra, which I believe is on par with many well respected symphonies.
As a sports fan, I'm particularly pleased to be living near the Arizona Cardinals training center; while it'd be nice if they still played in nearby Tempe, I still enjoy going to training camp. All in all, I'm very glad we moved to Chandler. My kids enjoy the suburban lifestyle and their own rooms. I enjoy the more relaxing lifestyle, while my wife is fond of the shopping nearby at Arizona Mills. Chandler is a pleasant town that I would recommend to any of my friends.
