Mesa, Arizona is a wonderful place to live whether it be for a family of five or a single bachelor.
For children there are plenty of wonderful programs to join in such as the youth flag football, basketball, or dodgeball run by the City of Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities Department. Here, the emphasis is not on winning but on developing strong character and having fun.
For aspiring young adults there is the Mayor's Youth Committee. Here, juniors and seniors selected by their school principals and councilors for a year long program that participates in community service opportunities, research city issues, and tours city departments and projects. This great program helps many young adults build a strong sense of teamwork and dedication. I know this first hand because my family and I moved here from southern California last fall.
We didn't know what to expect from Mesa but we were nicely suprised. The weather is amazing and the community is so friendly. My children (one has just left for college and one is starting highschool) easily adapted to the laid back Mesa way of life and their characters were greatly enhanced by the great programs described above.
But, I have to say, the best thing is the great attitude and feel of the community. You feel so safe here. Our neighbors were so nice and invited is to parties as soon as we moved in so we could get to know the neighborhood. The schools system is great and I am very glad that our family decided to move to Mesa, Arizona.
