Jennifer enjoys Mesa ...

My husband recently had a job transfer that moved us from Minneapolis to Mesa. We really wanted to find some Mesa lake real estate after living in Minnesota for the past several years. We weren't sure that could happen, but it did!

We've been pleasantly surprised with all the outdoor activities and the beautiful weather that Mesa, Arizona has to offer. We enjoy the outdoors and have found that Mesa has a variety of lovely parks to choose from such as the Mountain Regional Park. We've even taken a cruise while we've been here aboard the Dolly Steamboat!

With two young children it can be difficult to find things to do that are enjoyable for the adults and the kids. In Mesa we've come across some kid-friendly museums that have been fun for the adults as well. The Arizona Museum of Natural History has a fun dinosaur exhibit that my 4 year old little boy just couldn't get enough of. When the weather is nice, and it is most of the time in Mesa, we like making it a day and visiting the Phoenix zoo.

My husband and I moved to Mesa hoping to find a selection of restaurants to choose from when we're looking to have the rare date night. We certainly haven't been disappointed and have come across a variety of restaurants to please the foodie in both of us. So when we manage to come across a babysitter we enjoy heading out for the evening and getting some delicious Mexican and Southwestern fare. When we are feeling especially energetic we'll even head out for a cocktail after dinner or hit one of the local nightclubs.

I must say that when I found out about my husband's job transfer I was a bit concerned that we were headed for a desert wasteland. Mesa is more like an oasis full of fun activities, museums and restaurants for our entire family to enjoy. Submitted to: Mesa Lake Real Estate

Giani from Phoenix ...

Living in Phoenix, Arizona for a number of years afforded me the opportunity to visit Mesa, a city that borders Phoenix. Though often considered part of Phoenix, Mesa does have its' own distinctiveness that makes it worth visiting. First, there are a number of museums such as the Arizona Museum for Youth or the Arizona Museum of Natural History. Being an aircraft enthusiast, I have enjoyed the Commemorative Air Force Aircraft Museum. Standing near the old warplanes from WWII makes you feel like a part of history, connected to our past.

How about golfing? Mesa has a number of great golf courses, including Royal Palms, Riverview and if you are feeling special, Mesa Country Club Golf Course. The winter weather in the valley is the perfect setting for golf.

Exercise and entertainment? It doesn't get much better. Then, when you finish hitting the links, grab your friends for some shopping a Dana Park Village Square? 400,000 square feet of luxury goods and services will sure lift your spirits. Along with a number of great stores, they have my absolute favorite grocery store in the world. AJ's Fine Foods is in the center and quite honestly, if you need the most uncommon ingredient, or feel like quality sushi from a grocery store, they have you covered. Mark it on your list!

Finally, if you are looking for capping the evening off with dinner and a show, I recommend Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. But if you would rather have a more western themes night, Rockin' R Ranch is a better fit. This is just a small sampling of the many options available to you in Mesa.
